The meeting was held at Mt. Lebanon United Lutheran Church, President Jeff Graybill presiding.
Attendees:
We are scheduled to do a combined show at the library with the Carnegie Model Railroaders on the second weekend in April 2027. It will be moved to the basement. Apprehension about people finding us in the basement when they had problems finding us in the Lincoln Room was expressed. Based on the attendance between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm on the Friday dates, it was suggested that we still setup on Thursday but delay the start of operations until 12:00 noon on Friday. We will revisit these ideas or suggestions for next year in six months.
The Greenberg Train Show in Monroeville is scheduled for July 25th and 26th this year. In response to the closing of the Parkway East from July 10th until August 15th we have decided not to apply to attend this show. We have no information at this time whether Div. 2 will apply.
Since we won’t have another setup until the Mt. Lebanon show in early December, the idea of a work session was revisited. The purpose of the work meeting will be to upgrade modules to follow the Free-Mo standards and add a 16 volt ac accessory wire to the layout. Jeff will look into a good date that we can use the church facilities to meet for this purpose.
Dave Damp shared a quote that he found on Facebook. The quote was “Don’t let anyone talk you out of spending $200 to get into model railroading. That $500 will be the best $4000 you ever spent.” No one disagreed.
Next Meeting:
The next SHMRRC meeting will be at the Mt. Lebanon United Lutheran Church at 7:00 pm on May 26, 2026.
