SHMRRC Minutes for the Monthly Meeting

The meeting was held at Mt. Lebanon United Lutheran Church, President Jeff Graybill presiding.

 Presidents Report:

The next Greenberg Train Show is scheduled for July 23 and 24.  We have applied along with Div 2 to set up the combined layout in the same space as we had in the January Show.  We will finalize the plans as soon as we get more information.

 

 

Treasurers Report:

The total balance in the treasury is $4528.25 in cash and savings. A few members still need to submit their dues.

 

Program:

Jeff Graybill presented a program on the basics of DCC covering the difference between DC and DCC, different DCC systems, engine decoders, wiring, and what you can do with a DCC system.

 

Dave Bodnar passed around examples of DCC++ and DCC++EX which are Arduino based DCC systems that can be built using existing Arduino components along with a computer or cell phone.

 

Dale Vilsack brought an example of T-Track modules which had a DCC control system that allowed two engines to run in a loop automatically without hitting each other.  The system used a sensor that, when triggered, would adjust the speed of each engine so that they stayed apart from each other.
