Presidents Report & Business

Jeff is working on contacting possible venues for display of the proposed N scale display layout. Several places expressed interest. He is also investigating layout space for the next Greenberg Show.

Treasurers Report:

The treasury is in good shape. We received a payment from the July Greenberg Show.

Program:

Bill Baldwin provided maps and photo albums depicting the rail lines through Bridgeville and gave a synopsis of the history of these lines. The material is available to members if they contact Bill.

Various options for the N scale layout were discussed including the reliability of N gage equipment and track plan. The main issues are the sturdiness of the platform, work and storage spaces and security from damage, accidental or deliberate.

Kent Miller showed examples of four products for adding water to layout scenes: Envirotex, Realistic Water, Magic Water and Future Floor Wax.

IMPORTANT: A field trip is planed to Ester’s Hobby shop in Millvalle for Aug. 10 or 17. The plan is to meet at the Southminster parking lot adjacent to the Mt. Lebanon Library at 6:15pm to car pool leaving at 6:30. This is in addition to our regular August meeting. Watch e-mail for the date.
