SHMRRC Minutes for the Monthly Meeting

The meeting was held at Mt. Lebanon United Lutheran Church, President Jeff Graybill presiding.

Presidents Report:

 
The dates for the Greenberg Train Show in Monroeville are confirmed to be July 25th and 26th but since the entire Parkway East will be closed during that weekend the SHMRRC has decided not to participate. 

Preliminary dates for a work meeting will be a Saturday in August due to the programs that the church will be running in July.  Jeff will email possible dates and if anyone has a Saturday in August that he can’t attend let Jeff know via email.  A list of needed items to upgrade the modules at the work meeting will be compiled at the June meeting to allow time to purchase them. 

Dave Maynard volunteered to store the modules from Lane Wiley until we can use them. 

Unfortunately Dave Tepe, a long time SHMRRC member, passed away on May 19th.  Dave served as Secretary for the club and had a module that was included in the shows.  His death notice can found at https://obits.slaterfuneral.com/david-tepe  . 

Big Boy No. 4014 will be travelling through Pennsylvania in July with several opportunities to view it in our area.  The club has no plans to organize an event to see it but the details can be found at the link below for anyone who wants to go.  Full schedule at:  Big Boy No. 4014’s Schedule | Union Pacific 

Treasurers Report:

The total amount in the treasury is $6,070.05 with $5,390.05 in checking and $680.00 cash on hand. 

Program:

Dave Bodnar demonstrated a programmable motor controller that can be used to automatically run a train back and forth with options for speed, acceleration, and timing.  Dave will forward a link with information about the controller.

The next SHMRRC meeting will be at the Mt. Lebanon United Lutheran Church at 7:00 pm on June 30, 2026.
